How It Happened (Game 1)

* In the opener, Abington grabbed the game's first lead in the top half of the second after a two-run double by freshman Jaxon Horvath.  Senior Zach Bauers reached base on a field error and junior Donato Incollingo followed with a walk before Horvath drove them both in to give the Nittany Lions a 2-0 lead.

* Brandywine got a run back in the bottom of the second when Ryan Snyder drove in a run with a base hit to center field.  It turned out to be the only run scored by the home team in the game.

* The score remained 2-1 until the top half of the seventh.  Abington took advantage of a throwing error that allowed sophomore John Marcucci to score from second base and make the score 3-1.

* In the eighth, Abington added a couple of insurance runs with junior Andrew Holt driving the inning's first run with a base hit to right field scoring Incollingo who doubled earlier in the inning.  Another throwing error by Brandywine led to Abington's fifth run of the game as the Nittany Lions increased their lead to 5-1.

* Abington struck first in the non-conference game with three runs in the second inning.  All three runs came after the first two batters in the inning were retired.  With two on, Marcucci drove in a run with a base hit to left field.  A wild pitch by Brandywine allowed junior Domenic Lotruglio to score from third.  Later in the inning, sophomore Aqual Chapman drew a bases loaded walk to force in the third run of the inning.

* Abington held a 3-0 advantage until the bottom of the fourth when Brandywine broke through with 10 runs on six hits as 14 batters came to the plate.  Brody Oyloe went 2-for-2 in the inning with two run scoring hits, while Ivano Romaniello and Miguel Rodriguez each drove in a pair of runs.
