Abington Falls to Harrisburg in United East Match

Middletown, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's tennis team suffered its first United East Conference (UEC) loss of the season after falling to Penn State Harrisburg, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Hoverter Tennis Complex.

How It Happened
 
* Harrisburg earned the team point after sweeping doubles play to open the match.  Harrisburg won first doubles, 6-1, and then took second and third by identical 6-2 scores.
 
* Harrisburg completed the shutout with a sweep at singles play.
 
* Sophomore Charlie Batman and freshman Kaan Ofluoglu each won four games in their respective matches.  Batman battled John McCarthy at sixth singles (3-6, 1-6), while Ofluoglu took on Colin Flack at fifth singles (2-6, 2-6).
 
* Freshman Sanat Juneja won three games in his fourth singles match against Ian Opitz (3-6, 0-6).
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the ninth meeting between Abington and Harrisburg since the start of the 2011-12 season.  Abington is now 1-8 versus Harrisburg in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Tuesday, March 31 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Penn College in a United east contest.  Match time is set for 1:30 p.m.
