How It Happened

* A five-run first inning was all the support that Aub would need as he scattered three hits over six innings of work. The Abington offense took advantage of five walks in the opening frame as the Nittany Lions only recorded two hits.  Junior Akira Nakamura had a run scoring single to drive in the team's first run, while senior Benjamin Gagnon capped the scoring with a base hit later in the inning.

* The score remained 5-0 until the bottom of the fifth when Abington increased its lead with a pair of runs.  Freshman Jaxon Horvath had a two-run single in the inning to make it a 7-0 game.

* In the seventh, Gagnon hit a sacrifice fly to score Nakamura who led the inning off with a base hit to right-center field to increase the Abington lead to 8-0.  Two batters later, Marcucci connected on a 0-2 pitch with a blast over the right field fence to 'walk it off' for the Nittany Lions at 11-0.  It marked his third 'walk-off' hit of the season.

Inside the Box Score

* Aub improved to 2-0 on the year as he recorded his first career shutout.  He went six innings and scattered three hits while striking out four batters.  Redshirt sophomore Christopher Raimonda pitched a scoreless seventh with one strike out.

* Nakamura went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with three base hits while scoring three times and driving in one run.  He reached base four times after drawing a walk to lead off the fifth.

* Horvath finished the game 2-for-3 with a run and three RBI.

* Marcucci also had three RBI thanks to his seventh inning home run.  It marked his second homer of the season.

* For Berks, Andrew Seibert went 2-for-3, while Michael DeRichie finished 1-for-2 with a walk to account for the team's three hits.
