How It Happened

* Neumann scored a pair of runs in the opening inning to lead 2-0 early in the game.  The Knights took advantage of a first inning error by the Nittany Lions to push across their first run of the frame.

* Two innings later the Knights added to their lead when a fielder's choice ground ball by Nicole Anderson scored a run to make the score 3-0.

* The score remained 3-0 until the sixth when the Nittany Lions spoiled Neumann's shutout bid.  Sophomore Morgan Craig singled up the middle to score junior Isabella Antosiewicz who led the inning off with a walk.

* Neumann answered in the bottom of the sixth with a two-out run scoring double by Tori Spinella to cap the scoring at 4-1.
