Abington Falls to Ramapo on the Road

Mahwah, N.J. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest at Ramapo College by the score of 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Ramapo Athletic Center Turf.

How It Happened
 
* The Roadrunners struck minutes into the game when Morgan Korinchak scored the first of her two goals in the third minute of action.  Korinchak recorded her second goal in the 14th minute to push the lead to 2-0.
 
* Ramapo added another goal prior to halftime to lead 3-0 after Brianna Apello connected on her first goal of the season in the 42nd minute. 
 
* Abington ripped off nine shots in the first half, including four on-goal.  Junior Kaitlyn Frank accounted for two of those shots.  Junior Meghan McGinly and sophomore Rylee Sundermeier also had a shot on-goal in the opening half.
 
* The Roadrunners capped the scoring in the 55th minute after Julianna Capitanello scored her second goal of the season.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Senior goalkeeper Kayla Kulp made 10 saves in net for the Nittany Lions tying her season-high in stops.
 
* Frank, McGinly and freshman Grace Smith each tied for the team lead in shots with three.
 
* Ramapo's Gabby Matias made five saves in 82:20 minute of action.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked just the second meeting between Abington and Ramapo.  The Nittany Lions are now 0-2-0 versus the Roadrunners.  Ramapo won last year's contest, 2-1.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 23 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Alvernia University in a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 4 p.m.
