Abington Competes at Purple & Gold Open

RESULTS

Coatesville, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's cross country team competed at the Purple & Gold Open hosted by West Chester University on Saturday morning.

Race Highlights

* Senior Nelly Evangelista was the first of three Abington runners that finished the 4k-course in succession. Evangelista finished 21^st overall in a time of 21:38.6 and was followed by fellow senior Zuura Ramazanova (22:05 – 22^nd) and sophomore Charlotte Patterson (22:17 – 23^rd).

* Freshman Emily Alvarado followed in 25^th place as she finished the course in a time of 22:39.

* Freshman Jaylynn Curtis recorded a time of 28:57 (33^rd) while freshmen Ashley Ocampo (30:58 – 37^th) and Katheryn Couto (31:07 – 38^th) also accounted for the team's scoring.

* Other finishes for the Nittany Lions, include sophomore Solomiya Oros (31:12 – 39^th) and freshmen Laura Aravjo (33:19 – 41^st) and Megan Whitaker (34:57 – 42^nd).

Next Up
Abington is idle next weekend but returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 10 as the Nittany Lions compete at the annual Jack St. Clair Memorial hosted by Thomas Jefferson University.
