Abington Falls to Haverford in Non-Conference Showdown

Haverford, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 defeat on the road against Haverford College in a non-conference contest on Tuesday evening at Walton Field.

How It Happened
 
* Haverford's Charles Sharp and Thomas Vanni each scored a pair of goals to lead the Fords' offense.  Sharp tallied both his goals in the opening half with scores in the 12th and 20th minutes, while Vanni tallied his two goals in the second half in the 59th and 81st minutes.
 
* The Haverford offense recorded 23 shots in the game, but only six on-target.  The defense held Abington to just two shots; both coming in the second half.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Sophomore Anthony Abreu had the team's lone shot on-goal in the game, while freshman Shane Lachawiec also tallied a shot for the Nittany Lions.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked just the third meeting between Abington and Haverford since the start of the 2011 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 0-2-1 versus the Fords in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 12 as the Nittany Lions travel to face nationally ranked No. 12 Rowan University in a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 6 p.m.
