Penn State Abington University Athletics

One of the outstanding rookies on the 2018 Penn State Abington baseball team, Darren Aupperle broke his way into the starting lineup game one of the regular season.  Darren had a solid year both offensively and defensively playing solid defense both in the outfield and infield. Darren’s season, unfortunately, was cut short due to a year ending leg injury.  Aupperle hit .258 and played in 13 of the team’s 38 games in 2018.

Baseball 2018: Appeared in 13 games…Hit .258 with a .290 slugging percentage and a .395 on-base percentage…Had 1 doubles, 8 runs, 1 stolen base and 9 RBIs…Defensively, had 30 putouts, 4 assist and 1 error for a .971 fielding percentage.  Made his collegiate debut February 16, going 0-for-4 as the starting third baseman vs. Frostburg State.
