One of the outstanding rookies on the 2018 Penn State Abington baseball team, Joe Rizzo broke his way into the starting lineup game one of the regular season.  Joe had a solid year both offensively and defensively playing solid defense both in the outfield and infield. Rizzo hit .291 and played in 32 of the team’s 38 games in 2018. Rizzo was a big part of the team’s 2017-18 Division III baseball statistical champion for Double Plays Per Game award.

Baseball 2018: Appeared in 32 games…Hit .291 with a .382 slugging percentage and a .394 on-base percentage…Had 4 doubles, 2 home runs, 1 stolen base, 25 runs and 30 RBIs…Defensively, had 60 putouts, 18 assist and 2 errors for a .975 fielding percentage.  Made his collegiate debut February 16, going 0-for-4 as the starting second baseman vs. Frostburg State.
