Box Score Penn State Abington women's lacrosse dropped a 19-12 decision to Medaille College in the North Eastern Athletic Conference quarterfinals this afternoon.
Nichole Hayes scored six goals and an assist as
Danielle Savoni tallied a hat trick and an assist.
Kirsten Quinn,
Tori Kimberly and
Victoria Brady each netted a goal. Goaltender,
Shreya Soni came up with seven saves in the game.
The Mavericks led 5-0 early in the first half before Hayes took the charge and scored four of the five unanswered goals to tie up the game for Abington.
Both teams traded a pair of goals before Medaille closed out the first half, scoring four goals unanswered for the 11-7 lead at halftime.
Abington refused to back down without a fight, opening the second half with back-to-back goals from Brady and Savoni.
After tallying a pair of goals next four minutes, Medaille took advantage of the ball possession, finding the back of the net four more times to make it a 18-10 lead.
Kimberly and Hayes scored the final two goals of the game for Abington but it wasn't enough as the Mavericks held on for the 19-12 decision.
Abington finishes the year with a 4-10 overall record and a 4-6 mark in the NEAC Conference as a team.
