The Penn State Abington women's lacrosse team fell to Keuka College 14-5 on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Lions dropped to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC), while the Lady Storm remained undefeated, 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the NEAC.
Keuka opened the first half scoring seven consecutive goals before
Danielle Savoni notched the first goal of the game for Abington with 6:17 remaining in the first half. Keuka managed to penetrate the Lady Lions' defense, adding three additional goals before
Katelyn Haas found the back of the net for Abington's second goal with a minute remaining in the half to trail 10-2.
Despite an improvement in Abington's defense, Keuka managed to find gaps, scoring four unanswered goals during the second half.
As the saying goes, better late than never, Abington's
Nicole Hayes converted two free position shots into goals as Haas tallied her second goal of the game. It was, however, not enough as Keuka held on for the win to remain undefeated on the season.
The Lady Lions hosts the College of St. Elizabeth on Wednesday, April 11
th with the first face off set for 12:45 p.m at Sparks Field.
