Women's Lacrosse Loses to Wesley, 18-3

DOVER, Del. – The Penn State Abington women's lacrosse team lost 18-3 to Wesley College tonight at the Scott Millar Stadium in Dover, Delaware.

Wesley scored the first four goals and never looked back. Junior midfielder Nichole Hayes scored the Lady Lions' goal with 21:13 left in the first half. The Wolverines netted the final nine goals of the opening half to take a 13-1 lead at the break.

In the second half, Wesley scored three times before Hayes tallied her second goal of the game at the 10:25 mark, while Tori Kimberly found the back of the net for the third and final Abington goal with just less than four minutes remaining in the game.

For the game, Abington had seven shots, including three for Kimberly and two for Hayes. Hayes went on to collect a team-high five groundballs and forced six caused turnovers. Freshman Sandy Cao faced 24 shots and made eight saves on the night.

The Lady Lions (0-7) will now open NEAC play on Saturday, April 6, when they host Cazenovia College at 4 p.m.
