Men's Overall Men's Team Women's Overall Women's Team Gettysburg, Pa. - The Penn State Abington cross country teams competed at the Gettysburg College Invitational on Saturday.
The men's team finished 21
st out of 34 teams. Junior
Alexander Kane (Doylestown, Pa.) led the Nittany Lions and finished 9th overall, out of 355 runners with a time of 26:12:0. Freshman Nelson Costa followed suit with a time of 28:28.2 for a 107th place finish. Senior
Nicholas Volpe crossed the line in 141
st place with a time of 28:50:3, while
Billy Donovan crossed the line with a 29:14:6.
Other Abington finishers include Fahem Shah finishing in 276
th with a personal best 31:24:4 and
Jeremy Castro who finished 321
st with a 34:15:5 to round out the runners for the Blue and White.
The women finished 28th out of 35 teams and were led by sophomore
Valerie Santangelo with an 82nd place finish for a time of 25:20.1. Junior
Gina Montgomery crossed the line in 27:46.0 for the 228th spot, while
Haley Burns finished in 250th place in 28:10.05
Other finishers include
Kelly Hammond in 252
nd (28:13:7) and
Jenina Santos in 294th (29:07:4).
Penn State Abington will travel to Washington D.C. in two weeks to participate in the NEAC Championships, hosted by Gallaudet University on Saturday, November 1
st. The women will start at 10:00 a.m. followed by the men's race at 11:00 a.m.
