Arcadia Blanks Women's Lacrosse, 20-0

Box Score HORSHAM, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's lacrosse team suffered a 20-0 shutout against Arcadia University at the Hatters Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Arcadia (5-0) wasted no time scoring its first goal of the game just 12 seconds into the contest to take the early lead. The Knights went on to add another score at the 28:07 mark to extend the margin to 2-0. Arcadia went on to score 15 more goals in the first 30 minutes to take a commanding 17-0 lead at the half.

In the second half, Arcadia maintained possession of the ball for the majority of the half, scoring two goals in the stanza to cruise to the 20-0 final. Jenna Crothers led the Knigthts with five points on a pair of goals and three assists. Jessica Santoli and Dawn Faranetta both recorded a hat-trick as nine other Knights scored at least one goal in the win.

Abington (0-4) picked up five ground balls and made four shots but could not find the back of the net.

In goal, sophomore Sandy Cao played all 60 minutes and made ten saves in 26 shots faced.

Abington will look for its first win of the season when it hosts Rutgers-Camden on Thursday, March 20 at Hatboro-Horsham high school. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
