Women's Lacrosse Shut Out by Catholic

Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Penn State Abington women's lacrosse team suffered a 19-0 loss against Catholic University on Sunday afternoon.

Catholic (2-1) wasted no time scoring its first goal of the game just 28 seconds into the contest to take the early lead. The Cardinals went on to add another score at the 28:41 mark to extend the margin to 2-0. Catholic went on to score 13 more goals in the first 30 minutes to take a commanding 15-0 lead at the half.

In the second half, Catholic continued the offense scoring four goals in the stanza to cruise to the 19-0 final. Madeline Wilson and Lindsey Brophy both tallied six points as Wilson scored four goals and two assists, while Brophy scored twice and added four assists.

Abington (0-2) picked up eight ground balls but could not find the back of the net.

In goal, sophomore Sandy Cao played all 60 minutes and made six saves in 19 shots faced.

Abington will look for its first win of the season when it travels to Frederick, Md. for a non-conference matchup against Hood College on Tuesday, March 11. The game is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
