Avery Winn scored a game-high seven goals as fellow classmate
Katelyn Haas posted four goals, as Penn State Abington won its North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) lacrosse opener over Wilson College, 14-3, on Wednesday night at Hatters Field.

Sandy Cao had four saves while allowing just three goals for Abington (1-7, 1-0) as Haas established a career-high eight caused turnovers, a new record for most caused turnovers in a game.
After Wilson College open the contest with a goal at the 24:37 mark before Haas scored less than a minute later as the Nittany Lions scored seven straight goals, five of them coming from Winn, before Wilson managed to tally its second goal at 7:26. A pair of goals from Winn gave her seventh of the game as Haas and freshman attacker
Sara Sawick tallied the next two to extend the 11-2 lead at the break.
Wilson came out of the intermission looking to rebound as the Phoenix found the back of the net at the 27:37 mark to open the second half. Abington would respond with three straight goals as midfielders
Chasidy McLaurin,
Katelyn Kelly, and Haas each scored a goal for the Blue and White for the 14-3 score and the first win of the 2014 campaign.
Haas's four goals from tonight bumped her into the second spot with 63 career goals and 76 career points in program history.
Abington held a 46-10 advantage in shots, with Wilson (0-4, 0-3) getting the goals from Nicole Melanson, Hillary Swartz, and Megan Sterling.
Abington travels to New York for a pair of conference match-ups, starting with Medialle College on Saturday, April 5 before taking on the Wildcats of SUNYIT the next day. Both contests are slated for a 1 p.m. start.
