Box Score MARCY, N.Y. – Nicole DiPiazza scored five goals as SUNYIT pushed past Penn State Abington for a 19-5 win in NEAC lacrosse on Sunday afternoon at the Wildcat Field.
Avery Winn scored four goals to lead the Blue and White (1-9, 1-2), which fell to Medialle in NEAC play yesterday after picking up its first conference win over Wilson last Wednesday.
Winn had her fourth hat trick in nine games this year and leads the Nittany Lions with 26 goals. Junior midfielder
Katelyn Haas scored the fifth goal for Abington.
SUNYIT opened the contest scoring seven unanswered goals before Winn posted her first goal of the game at the 2:58 mark to put Abington on the board. Less than two minutes later, Abington took advantage of a Wildcat yellow card as Haas found the back of the net before the break.
The second stanza continued to lean towards SUNYIT as the Wildcats opened the half with a pair of goals before Winn responded with back-to-back goals to cut the deficit down to five with 18:34 remaining.
The Wildcats kept attack the net as they scored a second round of seven unanswered goals in a span of 10 minutes for the 16-4 lead before Winn tallied her fourth goal, and Abington's fifth and final goal of the game at the 4:31 mark before SUNYIT wrapped up the contest with three additional goals for the 19-5 win.

Sandy Cao posted eight saves in the 27 shots faced, while
Chasidy McLaurin won three draw controls and
Alyssa Kaye was credited with two caused turnovers on the day.
The loss puts the Nittany Lions at 1-9 on the year and 1-2 in the NEAC, while SUNYIT remained undefeated with a 5-0 overall record and in first place in the NEAC with a 4-0 record.
Abington will travel to New York for the second time this season for a pair of conference games as the Nittany Lions open the weekend on Saturday, April 12 at Cazenovia College before taking on Morrisville State College the following day. Both games are slated for 1 p.m.
