Box Score MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Penn State Abington softball team continued its productive trip with a 12-4 win over Robert Morris Springfield on Thursday evening.

Abington finishes its solid spring break trip with a 3-1 record.

Sophomore Jennifer Rakita (Langhorne, Pa) earned her second win over the spring break trip on the mound. After giving up four early runs, Rakita settled down on the mound and worked the plate with four strikeouts in the game.

Offensively, Greta Sheridan (Horsham, Pa.) set the tone early with a leadoff homer in the first inning.

In the third inning Abington three runs to the board, highlighted by an RBI double from Rakita.

Later in the fourth inning, the Nittany Lions added another three runs off two hits.

 In the fifth inning Abington tacked on three more runs aided by an RBI double from Sheridan.

Abington will be back on the diamond when they host Misericordia University for a doubleheader on Saturday March 20, at 1:00 p.m.
