JENKINTOWN, Pa – Sophomore
Stevie Stevenson (Westampton, NJ) had a big day at the plate as he notched seven total RBIs, one grand slam and one stolen base to help propel the Nittany Lions to two wins against Cazenovia College in the double header. The sophomore also currently leads the NEAC in number of stolen bases. Abington won game one 12-0 and game two 25-4 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Alverthorpe Park. The wins improved their record to 7-0 in the conference and 16-7 overall.

In game one, junior
Kyle Marshall (Fairless Hills, PA) opened up the scoring for the Nittany Lions in the bottom of the 3
rd inning after his hit landed on the left field line. Stevenson reached home plate on the hit while Marshall safely made it on second base. Later in the inning, Stevenson was up to bat with the bases loaded and two outs. The slugger made the most of his situation and landed a grand slam deep to left field. Just two batters later, freshman
Ryan McCarty (Yardley, PA) hammered another home run for the Nittany Lions. At the end of the 3
rd inning, the Nittany Lions had a commanding 10-0 lead.

Abington would go on and score two more run to win 12-0. Junior
Tyler DiPatri (Pedricktown, NJ) pitched all 7 innings in game one and earned the shutout victory after an impressive performance on the mound.Â

The Nittany Lions continued to deliver at the plate in game two. Stevenson scored the first run of the game after McCarty hit went straight through the middle of the field. After the play, Abington would go on and score 13 more runs in the first three innings.

Abington's biggest inning would come in the bottom of the 8
th as they scored a total of 11 runs to put their total to 25 runs for the game. During the big inning, sophomore
Nick Yurchak (Bridgewater, NJ) reached first base after his hit went through the left side of the field. The hit drove home a run and advanced a player to third base. Freshman
Pat McDonald (North Wales, PA) earned the win in game two after pitching 8 innings, while freshman
Zach Brightbill (Birdsboro, PA) closed out the game for the Nittany Lions in the 9
th inning.

Abington will return to action on Tuesday as they travel to play Cairn University at 3:30 P.M.
