DePorre Named United East Player of the Week

Latham, N.Y. – Senior Isabella DePorre was named the United East Conference (UEC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 27 as announced by the conference office earlier in the week. This is the first Player of the Week honor for DePorre.

In the team's lone match of the week against Neumann University, DePorre went 2-0 in her matches to help lead the Nittany Lions to a 7-0 team victory over the Knights. DePorre teamed up with sophomore Laurie Flemming at first doubles as the duo defeated Neumann's Alura Troilo and Kayleigh DelleVecchi, 6-3. Abington trailed 3-2 in the match but won the final four points to pick up the win.

In singles play, DePorre easily defeated DelleVecchi at second flight in straight sets. DePorre took the match the scores of 6-2, 6-0.

In two matches during the fall season, DePorre went 2-0 in doubles play and split her two singles matches.

Abington (2-0) will resume play later this spring.
