Men’s Soccer Picked Third in Pre-Season Coaches Poll

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's soccer team was picked to finish third in the upcoming 2025 season as selected by the conference's head coaches in the United East Pre-Season Coaches Poll as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

The Nittany Lions are coming off a season in which they finished 7-0-1 in conference play good enough to earn the second seed in the 2024 United East Tournament.  Abington advanced all the way to the United East championship game for the first time since 2018 and the fourth time in the program's NCAA Division III era.

St. Mary's College (Md.) was tabbed to finish first as the reigning conference champions received nine first-place votes in this year's poll.  Penn State Harrisburg followed in second with three first-place votes, while Cairn University picked up the final first-place vote to finish fourth in the voting.  Lancaster Bible College placed fifth to round out the top-five.

The United East Championship will see 10 teams earn a spot in the postseason with the First Round kicking off on Oct. 28. The quarterfinal round will follow on Nov. 1 and the semifinal will take place on Nov. 5. The final two teams left will then square off on Saturday Nov. 8 to determine the United East Champion. All games will take place at the higher seed's facility.

Abington opens the 2025 campaign on Friday, Aug. 29 as the Nittany Lions hit the road to face Ramapo College in a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 2 p.m.
