Women’s Soccer Tabbed Sixth in Preseason Coaches Poll

Abington, Pa. –The Penn State Abington women's soccer team was selected to finish sixth in 2025 as voted by the conference's head coaches in the United East Pre-Season Coaches Poll as announced by the conference office on Thursday.
 
The Nittany Lions are coming off their first winning season since 2016 after finishing 12-6-2 last year, including a 5-1-2 mark in conference play to earn the fifth seed in the United East Tournament.  Abington advanced all the way to the United East semifinals registering its first postseason victory since 2015.
 
Penn State Harrisburg, last year's conference champion, received 11 of the 13 first-place votes in the poll to earn the top spot.  St. Mary's College (Md.) followed in second after receiving the final two first-place votes.  Penn College, Penn State Berks and Lancaster Bible College round out the top-five.
 
The United East Championship will see 10 teams earn a spot in the postseason with the First Round kicking off on Oct. 29. The quarterfinal round will follow on Nov. 1, and the semifinal will take place on Nov. 4. The final two teams left will then square off on Saturday, Nov. 8 to determine the United East Champion. All games will take place at the higher seed's facility.
 
Abington will kick-off the 2025 season on Friday, Aug. 29 as the Nittany Lions travel to Albright College for a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 6 p.m.
