Uzdzienski Named United East Elite 21 Award Recipient

Latham, N.Y. – Penn State Abington junior Jared Uzdzienski was named the winner of the 2026 United East Elite 21 award for baseball during the Final Four Double-Elimination portion of the conference tournament this past weekend. Uzdzienski is the first-ever student-athlete at Abington to receive the Elite 21 honor since the award was created in 2022-23.

The Elite 21 Award is modeled after the NCAA's Elite 90 award, which recognizes the student-athletes with the highest cumulative grade point average from a team that is competing in the conference tournament, in the case of baseball, the Final Four Double-Elimination portion of the tournament. The student-athlete must be a member of the current roster and at least a sophomore academically and in his or her second year of competition at their current institution.

Uzdzienski, a finance major, boasts an impressive 3.98 grade point average. Uzdzienski appeared in just one game this year pitching a scoreless inning of relief at Penn State Harrisburg where he struck out three batters.

Abington (32-13, 12-4 UEC) earned the third seed in this year's conference tournament and were making its 14^th appearance and 10^th straight in the postseason. Abington is now 18-26 all-time in the United East (formerly NEAC) championships.
