The Penn State Abington women's basketball team fell to Gallaudet University 58-47 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match-up on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Abington remain winless (0-16) and 010 in the conference while the Bisons' improve to 4-12, 2-8.
 
Jacyln Vandiver led the Lady Lions on 7-for-12 shooting for 18 points and eight boards. Jessica Schmidt also finished with 18 points and dished out three assists.
 
In the first half the Lady Lions got on the board first with a five point lead as Vandiver nailed a three-pointer and later finished with a layup. Abington then trailed for the remainder of the half. The Lady Lions kept the pressure on as they climbed back from a 12-point deficit to trail 24-20 at the closing of the first half.
 
During the second half, Gallaudet mustered a 12-point lead mid-way through the second stanza to put the game out of reach and picked up their second conference win.
 
Abington will return to action tomorrow when it travels to face Penn State Harrisburg to finish up the weekend contests.
