Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season with a Win

Box Score BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team jumped out to a quick start and then held on for a 3-2 victory over the host Lions of Bryn Athyn College tonight.

With the victory, the Nittany Lions wrap up the 2012 regular season 18-9 overall and 6-5 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference, a record good enough to clinch 6th place in the NEAC Regular Season and secure a #6 seed in the NEAC Tournament next weekend.

Abington started strong, winning the first set 25-18 before Bryn Athyn tied up the match in the second set 25-23. The Nittany Lions then took the third 25-23, but Bryn Athyn refused to back down and crawled back during the fourth to tie it up once again with a 25-18 decision.

Abington finally won the tiebreak with the score of 15-13 to earn the victory, defeating Bryn Athyn for the first time in two years.
The Nittany Lions got a strong support down the stretch from Abby Millan and Johangelie Thomas. Both players recorded double-doubles tonight as Millan recorded 18 kills and 10 digs, while Thomas recorded 13 kills and 19 digs.

Setter Leah Brown contributed with 35 assists while NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week recipient Krysten Boyd tallied 34 digs.
