Women's Basketball Falls to the Bison on the Road.

Box Score The Penn State women's basketball team lost to Gallaudet University 63-41 on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, Abington remains winless on the season as Gallaudet improves 7-15 overall and 5-11 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

Jessica Schmidt led the team with 10 points and 13 rebounds, her second double double of the season. Trish Watson contributed 10 points, three assists and three rebounds. Teammate Jacyln Vandiver finished with nine points and rebounds apiece.

Despite trailing 31-22 at the end of the first half, the Lady Lions led most of the way, opening the period on a 6-0 run over the first 1: 45. Gallaudet didn't have its first lead until 7:08 left in the stanza when Britny Latham hit a trifecta to put the Bison up 18-17. During the remainder of the half, the Bison went on a 13-5 run to lead 31-22 at the buzzer as both teams went into the locker rooms.

The second half showed all Gallaudet as Abington struggled to keep up throughout the stanza. Despite Watson's seven points during the second half, the Lady Lions could not find the solution to break the spell as Gallaudet, who shot just merely 26.9% from the field during the stanza, pulled away with a 22 point lead.

Abington will return to action on Tuesday as they host the 8 p.m. tip-off against Lancaster Bible College in the Pink Zone game. Fans are encouraged to attend the game wearing pink to show the support in the fight against breast cancer.
