Baseball Shut Out 8-0 at Swarthmore College

The Penn State Abington bats were quiet in an 8-0 loss to Swarthmore College on Tuesday afternoon at the Clothier Baseball Field.  
 
The Nittany Lions (4-7 overall) managed four hits against the Garnet (11-2).  Dustin Kology, Mike Kerns, Bill Parave, and Tom Ditro each singled.
 
The Garnet had eight hits in the contest. Pitcher Zach Weiner struck out seven batters, allowing only three hits and walked three in eight innings.
 
Abington pitcher Charlie Huber started on the mound and fanned two batters but gave up three hits and three runs. Pat Trymbiski, Brian Camp, Robert Morak, and Kevin Faber each pitched an inning, striking out a batter throughout the game.
 
Swarthmore opened the game off a bases loaded walk before posting two runs in the 4th and 5th inning to lead the game with five runs. The Garnet closed added three additional runs for the 8-0 lead and held on for their eleventh win of the season.
 
The Nittany Lions returns to action on Friday at Gwynedd Mercy College.
