Penn State Abington Dropped Tough Home Opener to Alvernia University

Penn State Abington men's lacrosse dropped a tough 23-2 decision to the visiting Crusaders of Alvernia University this afternoon, depsite the beautiful sunny day.
 
The loss dropped Abington's record to 0-5 overall while Alvernia improved to 5-2.
 
Alvernia jumped out to a quick start by controlling the momentum throughout the first half with a 12-1 score by halftime. In the second half, the Crusaders kept the pressure on and continued to dominate their strong presence with an 11-1 run for the win.
 
Penn State Abington's first home opener goal was scored unassisted by Kieran Ragan with 2:40 left in the second quarter. The second goal came off of Chris Antkowiak who found the back of the net off a feed by Andrew Girondo for the assist.
 
Abington will return to action on Wednesday March 21st as they travel to Dallas, Pa. for the 4 p.m. face-off against Misericordia University.
