Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
The Penn State Abington baseball team (7-9) swept the SUNY Canton Kangaroos on Sunday afternoon. Pitching prevailed in both games, with Brian Camp earning the 9-4 win in the first game, getting a good amount of offensive support, while Kevin Faber grabbed the game two 7-6 victory.

Game 1: Abington 9, SUNY Canton 4

In the second inning, Michael Corrigan and AJ Vagliani started the motion for Abington on base with both players stealing second and third at the same time before Dustin Kology managed to plate them at home off a base hit for the 2-1 lead.

Despite the Kangaroos scoring three more runs in the next three innings, Abington found the gap in the fifth as Mike Kerns scored an unearned run at the plate off an error on SUNY Canton's pitcher to give Abington the 5-4 lead. Daniel Hill then singled down the center line, plating two insurance runs for Abington for before being caught in a run down between bases to close the inning with Abington holding onto the 7-4 lead.

Matt Lawson finished the scoring count for Abington off a double, collecting the final two RBIs of the game, plating both Kology and Corrigan at home as the Nittany Lions held on for the 9-4 victory.

Three batters went 2-for-4 at the plate with a scoring run of their own, while Lawson and Kology posted 2 RBIs and Ditro with one during the game.

Brian Camp pitched all seven innings, striking out five Roo batters while only giving up nine runs in nine hits, walking only four throughout the game.

Game 2: Abington 7, SUNY Canton 6 (8 Innings)

Kology opened the top of the batting order with a single, followed by Moran also singling. Lawson then scored the first run of game two, driving Kology safely at home for the Abington lead.

The Roos would not quietly go away in the seventh as Jordan Hunneyman posted the three-run home run to give SUNY Canton the 6-5 lead.

Junior Mike Kerns answered back for the Nittany Lions with a solo home run of his own to tie it up, forcing the game into extra inning.

After junior Robert Morak managed to fight off the Kangaroo batters in the top of the eighth, Abington batters went right to work as Bill Parave reached on first base off an error by the shortstop. Hunter then posted a sacrificed bunt to advance Parave towards second successfully.

On the next batter, Vagliani was intentionally walked, leaving a runner on first and second and Jesse Goldstein was up next to bat. Goldstein singled out to the right center field for the hit but could not bring the runner safely home as Parave drove towards home plate only to be tagged out. With two outs on the board, the pressure was on for Kology.

Kology found the sweet spot and singled out to right field, rounding Vagliani safely home for the walk off run as the Nittany Lions nabbed the second game with a 7-6 decision.

Kology went 4-for-4 at the plate, posting two RBIs. Parave went 3-for-4 as Goldstein went 2-for-4.
Faber notched the win on the mound, allowing four runs on four hits.

Abington will return to action on Tuesday for a 3 p.m road game against Philadelphia Biblical University.
