Box Score PHILADELPHIA – Despite both teams combining for 23 total shots, the Penn State Abington men's soccer team played the Express of Wells College to a 0-0 double overtime draw Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions picked up only their first tie of the season within North Eastern Conference play, remaining undefeated (6-0-1) in league play, while Wells College drew their third tie (2-1-3) against conference foes and stands at 7-4-3 on the year.
Abington posted five shots in both the first and second halves while the visitors blasted four shots in each stanza. After a silent first overtime period, Abington was limited to just two shots compared to Well's three in the second overtime but one of two of Abington's second overtime shots sailed wide.
Junior
Alex Martins (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the way with four shots, placing two on net for the Blue and White. Junior Alexander Essandoh led the way with four shots for the Express, including a last-minute header shot attempt that whistled wide right.
For the Nittany Lions, goalkeeper
Dan Saint-Pol (Perkasie, Pa.), tabulated two saves through 110 minutes of play. Bayly, the keeper for Wells College, turned aside four shots on net that he faced.
Abington returns to action Sunday, Oct. 20 as they face-off with the Storm of Keuka College in a noontime contest.
