Box Score 2 READING, Pa. – The Penn State Abington volleyball team dropped a pair of 3-0 decisions to Lancaster Bible College and Gallaudet University as part of the North Eastern Athletic Conference crossover session on Saturday, hosted by Penn State Berks.
Six teams from the south division meet at different locations throughout the NEAC. The two losses by the Nittany Lions dropped their overall record to 8-17 on the year and 3-4 in the conference.
In the match against Lancaster Bible (9-14, 4-3), Abington's up and down games continued throughout the weekend as the Chargers' attack, averaging .319 per set, was too much for the Nittany Lions to handle, along with limiting Abington to just total four assists, for the 25- 16, 25-21, 25-18 decision.
Sam Amaro led the squad with five kills and eight digs, while
Kate Schalck and
Rachel Bohl both recorded four kills and two digs each with Schalck picking up two service aces.
Abington regrouped in the next matchup against the 2012 NEAC Conference champion, Gallaudet University, but the Bison overwhelmed the Nittany Lions in straight sets for the 25-10, 25-20, 25-16 victory.
Abington will return home for a non-conference matchup against Bryn Athyn College on Tuesday, October 8, at 7 p.m.
