BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's tennis team won its fourth straight match with the latest on a 9-0 win at Bryn Athyn College. The Nittany Lions improved to 7-4 overall with the win.
At No. 1 doubles, Abington's dynamic duo of
Steven Ly and
Monte Dunson improved to 2-2 as a pair with a 8-1 victory.
Matthew Wolff and
Dan Steinberg won at No. 2 (8-3) and
Kevin Wilkinson and
Christian Dix were edged their opponents at No. 3 by a score of 8-4 for the Nittany Lions.
In singles, Dix picked up his second career win after a hard-fought victory over Bryn Athyn's Phillip Brandt in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6. From there, Abington dominated the other matches with straight-set wins. Winning for Abington at the Nos. 1-5 slots were: Ly, Dunson, Woff, Steinberg and Wilkinson.
The Nittany Lions will rest for a week before returning to action on Wednesday, April 3rd as it hosts the Eagles of Eastern University at 3 p.m.
