SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Penn State Abington men's tennis team lost its final match to the three-time NEAC/NAC crossover Champion Colby-Sawyer Chargers 7-2 Sunday afternoon.
The NAC West Champion Nittany Lions finish their season at 11-4.
Abington battled in doubles as they dropped the first two matches by a close decision, but Mohmmed Ammouni (Bensalem, Pa.) and
James Howell (Abington, Mass.) salvaged a point with a dramatic 9-7 win.
The Chargers scored the first two victories in singles but a 6-1, 6-4 win by Ammouni kept the team alive. Three straight victories for Colby-Sawyer locked up the NAC Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
