ABINGTON, Pa – The Abington men's tennis team (1-0) opened its season with an 8-1 win over Albright College (0-2) Saturday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions won all three doubles matches with
Mohammed Ammouni and
Justin McNab taking the first point.Â
Monte Dunson and freshman
James Humes slipped past Albright after a tight 9-8 (7-5) win in a back-and-forth match. Chan Wook Hwang and
JT Kling rounded out the doubles action with an 8-2 win.
Ammouni earned the fourth point of the match in a tough 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 win over Albright. Abington won the match point when McNab locked down the Lions Cloud Parcell 6-2, 6-2 in singles action.
The Nittany Lions return to action September 22, when they travel to Arcadia Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
