VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.- The Penn State Abington men's tennis team opened its spring season with a trip to Virginia Wesleyan College, but the Nittany Lions fell 7-2 late Saturday night.
The Marlins took the top two flights of the doubles matches, but Qili Jian (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Chan wook Hwang (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) were able to earn a point with a close 9-8 win.
Abington was only able to win one of the singles matches with Jian's 6-4, 6-2 win over Virginia Wesleyan.
The Nittany Lions return to the court when they travel to Randolph-Macon College on March 11, at 1:00 p.m.
