Men's Tennis Advances to NEAC Championship

CLARKS SUMMIT, PA – In the regular season the Penn State Abington men's tennis team fell to Penn College, but the Nittany Lions earned their revenge beating the Wildcats 5-1 Friday night.

The Nittany Lions swept doubles action with an 8-5 win for Michael Litz (Huntingdon Valley, PA) and Brandon Zweiback (Elkins Park, PA) at the top flight.  Next Ilker Erkut (Philadelphia, PA) and Andrew Mandujano (Philadelphia, PA) battled to a close 9-7 win over the Wildcats. In the final doubles match Alex Sphabmixay (Philadelphia, PA) and Youssef Omar (Cleveland, OH) cruised to an 8-2 win to complete the sweep.

In singles action Litz continued his dominance with a 6-2, 6-2 win at the top flight and in the no. 3 singles match Zweiback clinched the match with a huge 6-4, 6-4 win.

Abington will be back in action tomorrow when they face off against the top seed Penn State Berks at 10:00 a.m.
