ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington baseball team landed two selections on the D3Baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region Teams in the Mid-Atlantic as announced by both organizations on Tuesday afternoon.
Senior outfielder
Stevie Stevenson makes his first appearance in his career after a phenomenal season to cap off a storied career for the Nittany Lions. Stevenson earned Third Team All-Mid Atlantic in the outfield for both D3Baseball and ABCA after earning a NEAC First Team Selection earlier in the season. The senior helped Abington gain their first ever No. 1 regional ranking and almost entered the national polls receiving votes. Stevenson finished the season with a .407 average with 32 runs, and 29 RBIs off of 46 hits at the plate. Stevenson will leave Abington with his name in the record books in multiple categories but is the programs all-time leader in runs scored with 134.
Also making an appearance on both All-Region Teams junior
Ryan McCarty earned Second Team All-Mid Atlantic for the ABCA, and Third Team All-Region for D3Baseball.com. McCarty was First Team All-NEAC after another big year for the shortstop and pitcher. McCarty finished the season with a career high .436 average and scored 35 runs to lead the team. He also chipped in 33 RBIs off his 44 hits all in a shortened season for the Nittany Lions.
