ABINGOTN, Pa. - Penn State Abington is ready to get back on to the court this season after a terrific start to head coach Roy Watson's tenure with the women's volleyball program. In 2019 the Nittany Lions finished 18-16 overall and 8-3 in the conference and a NEAC Runner Up after a loss in the championship to Morrisville State
"We return two very strong veteran athletes in Gaby and Jenny both of whom were instrumental in our historic run to the Finals in 2019. These two veterans are working very hard with our crew of exceptional freshmen and sophomore athletes. We are a very young team, but we've made the pledge to each another to never be outworked. I see grit, determination, and passion at every practice, working hard for ever rep. I'm excited for the season and I'm excited for our potential! "
Gaby Shreve returns for the Nittany Lions as the Libero. The Sophomore finished tenth in the conference in digs per set in 2019. Another important returner for the Nittany Lions Jenny McAnaney will look to dominate again as an outside hitter and lead the team as a captain. In the 2019 season she earned Second Team All-Conference and was fourth in the conference in kills per set and fifth in the conference in total points.Â
