Abington Competes at the Turtle Creek Intercollegiate

RESULTS

Limerick, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's golf team competed at the Turtle Creek Intercollegiate hosted by Arciadia University on Thursday at the Turtle Creek Golf Club. The Nittany Lions finished 11th overall as a team.

Tournament Highlights

* Jake Gregory was Abington's top-finisher as he tied for 29^th overall among 69 competitors. Gregory finished with a score of 81 (+9). He parred 11 of the 18 holes on the par 72 course.

* Leonard Gipson finished with a score of 83 (+11) parring eight holes and connected on a birdie on the eighth hole. Gipson finished tied for 39^th.

* Bern Popky finished next in the overall standings (t-43^rd) as he totaled an 84 (+12) on the day. Popky recorded 10 pars.

* Tyler Burton carded a 90 (+18) to factor in on the scoring for the Nittany Lions.

* Matt Duggan finished the day with a 93 (+21).

* On the women's side, Ava Miller competed as an individual as she finished tied for 23^rd with a score of 111 (+39).

Tournament Notes

* Delaware Valley University finished first overall as a team with a team-low score of 305.

* Zach Bruecks of Eastern University earned medalist honors as he registered an individual low score of 73 finishing one over par.

Abington wraps up the fall portion of its 2023-24 schedule on Monday, Oct. 16 as the Nittany Lions compete in the Franklin and Marshall Fall Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club in Lititz, Pa.
