Popky Finishes Third at FDU Invitational

RESULTS

Mendham, N.J. – The Penn State Abington men's golf team opened the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule at the FDU Invitational hosted by FDU-Florham on Monday afternoon at the Mendham Golf and Tennis Club. Senior Bern Popky highlighted the event with a third place showing as he finished with a score of 75 (+3) to lead the Nittany Lions.

Course Highlights

* Popky parred 10 holes, including six on the back nine holes. He also recorded three birdies on his way to a 75 on the day.

* Sophomore Trevor Ridge finished with an 85 (+13) on the par-72 course in his first outing with Abington. Ridge finished with five pars and two birdies.

* Junior Matthew Kilner, 2025 All-United East honoree, registered an 89 (+17). Kilner totaled six pars on the afternoon, with four on the front nine holes. He also birdied hole eight as he finished the front nine with a 42.

* Other finishers for Abington, include sophomore Anthony Feliciani (96- +24) and freshman Dan Bondarenko (98- +26).

Abington returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 2 as the Nittany Lions compete in the United East Conference Preview hosted by Penn State Harrisburg at the Dauphin Highlands Golf Course.
