Abington Opens Inaugural Season at Ursinus Outdoor Invite

Collegeville, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's track & field team opened its inaugural season at the Ursinus College Outdoor Invite on Saturday at Patterson Field.

Meet Highlights

* Jackie Lewis recorded top marks for Abington in the shot put and discus events. In the shot put, Lewis recorded a distance of 23'10" (7.26m) and in the discus finished with a distance of 59'1" (18.01m).

* In the 200-meter dash, Peijia Chen finished in 34.24 seconds for the team's top mark in the event.

* Lauren Berg finished in a time of 1:46.20 in the 200-meter dash.

* In the 800-meters, Brielle Worrall recorded a time of 3:01.28. She also tabbed the team's top time in the 1,500-meters as she finished in 6:04.02.

* The 4x100-meter relay team of Tahiz Almodovar, Serenity Faulkner, Lewis and Tracee Jones finished fourth overall with a time of 1:01.40.

* Abington's 4x400-meter relay team of Worrall, Almodovar, Faulkner and Lewis registered a time of 5:30.61 for a sixth place showing.

Abington returns to action on Friday, March 31 as the Nittany Lions compete in the two-day Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University.
