Abington Takes Part in ESU’s All-American Meet

RESULTS

East Stroudsburg, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's track & Field team competed at the 19th annual All-American Meet hosted by East Stroudsburg University on Friday.
 
Meet Highlights
 
* Freshman Teni Olayinka-Yusuf finished seventh overall in three events, including the 100-meters, 200-meters and the 400-meters.  In addition, Olayinka-Yusuf broke her own school record in the 200-meters after recording a time of 27.19 seconds in the event. Her previous top-mark in the 200-meters was set earlier in the month at the Ursinus Track & Field Festival when she recorded a time of 28.07 seconds. In the 100-meters, Olayinka-Yusuf finished in 13.34 seconds and clocked in at 1:14.97 in the 400-meters.
 
* Senior Tracee Jones recorded two season-best times in the 100-meters and the 200-meters.  In the 100-meters, Jones finished in 14.67 seconds and recorded a time of 31.05 seconds in the 200-meters.
 
* Freshman Autum Marteine-Jackson set a new personal-best in the 200-meters as she recorded a time of 32.45 seconds.  Marteine-Jackson also recorded a top-10 finish as she placed eighth overall in the 400-meters with a time of 1:20.76.
 
* Sophomore Kritka Singh finished 10th overall in both the 800-meters and the 1,500-meters.  Singh recorded a time of 3:31.44 in the 800-meters and registered a time of 7:19.50 in the 1,500-meters.
 
* In the shot put event, Abington had three throwers finished seventh, eighth and ninth respectively.  Sophomore Quelida Alexandre set a new personal-best as she recorded a distance of 24'10" (7.57m) to finish seventh overall.  Freshman Zara Tabansi finished eighth with a distance of 21' 1.25" (6.43m), while sophomore Anisa Wallace finished ninth with a distance of 19' 1.5" (5.83m).
 
* Tabansi recorded two personal-best in the discus throw and the javelin throw.  In the discus, Tabansi recorded a distance of 67'11" (20.70m) as she finished seventh overall.  In the javelin, she finished 13th with a distance of 40'9" (12.43m).
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Friday, April 25 as the Nittany Lions compete in the Miller Sports Construction Blue Jay Tune-Up hosted by Elizabethtown College.
