Olayinka-Yusuf Sets New Record at Osprey Open

Galloway, N.J. – Freshman Teni Olayinka-Yusuf broke the school record in the 200-meter dash as the Penn State Abington women's track & field team competed at the annual Osprey Open hosted by Stockton University on Saturday at G. Larry James Stadium.

Meet Highlights

* Competing in her first collegiate meet, Olayinka-Yusuf placed fifth overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.28 seconds to set a new school record in the event. The previous mark of 29.70 seconds was held by Mariah Moore recorded the former record last year at West Chester's Last Chance Meet. Olayinka-Yusuf also competed in the 100-meter dash and finished sixth overall with a time of 13.55 seconds. She nearly broke the school record of 13.31 seconds by just over two-tenths of a second.

* Freshman Autum Marteine-Jackson improved on her times from her collegiate debut a week ago as she set new personal-best times in the 100-meters and 200-meters. In the 100-mters, Marteine-Jackson finished in 15.81 (15^th) seconds and in the 200-meters crossed the finish line in 33.15 (14^th) seconds.

* In the field events, sophomore Anisa Wallace set personal-bests in the discus throw and the javelin throw. Wallace recorded a distance of 50'10" (15.49m) in the discus and finished with a distance of 46'9" (14.25m) in the javelin.
