Abington Competes at Danny Curran Invitational

Chester, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's track & field team competed at the annual Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University on Friday and Saturday at Elizabeth J. Hirschmann Field at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.

Meet Highlights

* Abington set six new school records during the meet and 23 new personal-best times were set.

* Freshman Charles Langley established the new mark in the 100-meter dash as he finished in a time of 12.29 seconds.

* In the 200-meters, freshman Mo Udisi set the new standard with a time of 24.69 seconds. He also set a new personal-best in the 400-meters with a time of 56.19 seconds.

* Freshman Nicolas Nieves set three new school records. In the 400-meters, Nieves set the new top mark with a time of 55.74 seconds. He finished the 800-meters in a time of 2:11.91 and the 1,500-meters in 4:25.30.

* The 4x100-meter relay team of Ross Sherrod, Victor Zhao, Nieves and Isaiah Torres came through with a school record time of 49.73 seconds.

Abington returns to action next weekend as the Nittany Lions compete in the two-day Osprey Open hosted by Stockton University. The annual meet begins on Friday, April 7 at 4:30 p.m.
