Abington Concludes Inaugural Season at Lions Invitational

RESULTS

Ewing, N.J. – The Penn State Abington women's track & field team concluded its inaugural season as the Nittany Lions took part in the Lions Outdoor Invitational hosted by The College of New Jersey on Saturday at the TCNJ Track & Field Complex.

Meet Highlights

* Sophomore Safara McIntyre finished in the top-20 in the 100-meter dash as she registered a time of 13.42 seconds slightly missing her school record time of 13.31 seconds. McIntyre finished 19^th overall.

* Junior Brielle Worrall and sophomore Sarah Gibbons finished within a second or two of one another in four different events. In the 400-meters, Gibbons (25^th) clocked in at 1:16.44, while Worrall (26^th) finished in 1:18.58. In the 800-meters, Worrall (39^th) finished in a time of 2:58.56 and Gibbons (41^st) followed in 2:59.95. Finally, in the 1,500-meters, Gibbons (37^th) recorded a time of 5:51.94, while Worrall (38^th) finished in 5:52.11.

* The 4x400-meter relay team of Worrall, Sara Piana-Agostinet, Serenity Faulkner and Gibbons finished fifth overall and fourth among collegiate teams in the event. The Nittany Lions recorded a time of 5:35.37.

* In the 4x100-meter relay, the team of Tahiz Almodovar, Peijia Chen, Faulkner and Amelia Matt registered a time under a minute as the quartet finished in 59.97 seconds to place sixth overall.

* In the 200-meters, Tracee Jones, Mariah Moore and Matt all finished neck and neck in the event. Jones finished in 31.00 seconds flat, while Moore clocked in at 31.77 seconds and Matt finished in 31.91 seconds. Moore and Matt finished with the second and third fastest times on the team this year. Jones just missed her school record of 30.76 seconds set last week.
