Abington Honored with Academic All-District Selections

Abington, Pa. – Penn State Abington had four student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® teams for the fall season. The All-District teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field/court and in the classroom.

Abington's honorees include, women's soccer senior Rachel Wilfrid and junior Kyrsten Strange along with men's soccer junior Achillies Triantafyllos and women's volleyball junior Alyssa Flickinger.

Wilfrid and Strange are making their second straight appearance on the All-District team. Wilfrid, a Criminal Justice major, and Strange, a Project Management & Supply Chain major, each boast cumulative grade point averages of 3.98.

Triantafyllos is also a repeat selection on the All-District team. The two-time honoree is a Finance major and has a cumulative GPA of 3.73.

Flickinger is being named to the Academic All-District team for the first time in her career. A Biology major, Flickinger holds a cumulative GPA of 3.57.

In order to be eligible to earn a CSC Academic All-District® honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and in athletic eligibility, own a cumulative grade point average above 3.50 and have significant athletic credentials.
