Sauter's Video Crowned United East Hype Video of the Year

Latham, N.Y. - Michael Sauter, Creative for Penn State Abington Athletics, earned the designation as United East Conference (UEC) Hype Video of the Year for his "2024 Penn State Abington Hype Reel" that creatively gave a look at a number of Abington teams.

Nearly 500 votes were cast in part of the United East's Digital Media contest. A total of 38 photos and seven videos were submitted across three categories. These pieces of content represented 14 of the conference's 17 member institutions and eleven different sponsored sports.

This year's winners were selected by three groups including United East member Athletic Communications personnel, Faculty Athletic Representatives and a general public vote. All three groups took into consideration the technical abilities of the photos and video, the artistic feeling as well as the overall quality of what was being presented.

Sauter's winning video used a number of visuals, effects, soundbytes and music to help capture viewers' attention.

"Thank you to the United East for all they do for our schools and players for the opportunity to play the sports we love at the Division III level," Sauter said as per the United East. "Thank you to the other nominees in this category, I watched every video and man, everyone brought something special to this competition. Everyone's work was incredible and showed amazing skill in creating these videos. These schools are grateful to have creatives like you guys making these beautiful works of art. This win is not just for me, but for Penn State Abington. Coming in to work with the players, coaches, and staff doesn't feel like work, because these people make it so easy to go the extra mile and create these videos. These groups of athletes are special, and wins and losses don't represent how amazing of people they are. I am grateful for the opportunity to share with everyone my vision through the lens of a camera and to create memories that will last a lifetime, well after these athletes graduate.
