Abington Honors Seniors with Inaugural Stole Ceremony

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington Athletics Department along with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted its inaugural Senior Stole Ceremony on Monday night on campus.  The ceremony was brought together by SAAC as a way to recognize and honor student-athletes for their academic accomplishments and ultimately their impending graduation.

"We wanted to create the Senior Stole Ceremony as an opportunity for senior student-athletes to come together and be recognized," said SAAC President and senior softball student-athlete Hailey Gamble.  "We all came in together as young freshmen, it only felt right to allow a night for us to celebrate the four years of hard work, dedication, and successes we've had together as a class. I'm so proud of what this class has accomplished, and I know there is so much in store in this life for each and every one of us.  The Senior Stole Ceremony was a beautiful night and I'm hoping it becomes a yearly tradition for Penn State Abington athletics."

The night featured opening remarks by Director of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation Erin Foley and each member of the Abington coaching staff spoke about their respective seniors as each one was announced individually to receive their graduation student-athlete stole.  Finally, Abington Chancellor Gary Liguori was in attendance and spoke highly of the 2024-25 senior class for their hard-work and dedication to their respective sport and the university in his closing remarks.
