Abington Sets Two School Records at West Chester’s Last Chance Meet

West Chester, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's track & field team broke two school records and established a record in another as the Nittany Lions competed in the West Chester University Last Chance Meet on Friday at John A. Farrell Stadium.

Meet Highlights

* Senior Mariah Moore broke her own school record in the 200-meters as she finished in 29.70 seconds beating her previous top-mark of 29.75 set earlier this season at the Osprey Open. Moore also set a personal-best in the 100-meters with a time of 14.15 seconds as she finished seventh in the event.

* Freshman Avian Oppong finished with a distance of 27' 11" (8.51m) in the shot put event as she broke her own school record that she set last week. Oppong recorded a distance of 26' 8.25" (8.13m) at the Coach Pollard Invitational. Oppong also competed in the discus and finished with a distance of 78' 6" (23.93m).

* Freshman Nicole Hakman established the program's first-ever time in the 5,000-meters as she finished second overall in her first running of the event. Hakman recorded a time of 24:36.26.

* Junior Tracee Jones finished eighth overall in the 100-meters as she established a new personal-best with a time of 14.43 seconds.

* Freshman Sereniti Minor set a pair of personal-best performances. In the 100-meters, Minor finished in 14.72 seconds, while recording a time of 30.03 seconds in the 200-meters.

* Junior Alexis Hunter also recorded two new personal-bests. In the 100-meters, Hunter recorded a time of 16.55 seconds. She also competed in the javelin and recorded a distance of 64' 4" (19.60m).

Abington returns to action on Friday, May 3 as the Nittany Lions compete in the inaugural United East Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Penn State Behrend will host the two-day event.
