Women's Volleyball Releases 2024 Schedule

ABINGTON, Pa. - The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team has announced its 2024 schedule that features 26 matches, including a 10-match slate against United East Conference (UEC) opponents. Sixth-year head coach Roy Watson and the Nittany Lions kick off the 2024 season on Friday, August 30 on the road against Cairn University.

Abington will be travel out to near-by Cairn for a non-conference match before visiting Immaculata University the next day (Aug. 31) for a tri-match with the Mighty Macs and the University of Valley Forge. The Nittany Lions home opener at the Abington Athletic Building is set for Wednesday, Sept. 4 against Gwynedd Mercy University. The Nittany Lions home schedule also features a tri-match later in the month (Sept. 14) against Penn State Brandywine and Bryn Mawr College.

United East play officially begins when the calendar switches to October. The Nittany Lions will face the conference's newest member in Penn State Brandywine on Thursday, Oct. 3 to open conference play. The the rest of the team's schedule in the month of October will all be against United East competition. The regular season will conclude on Saturday, Nov. 2 as the Nittany Lions host Bryn Athyn College.

Last season, Abington (12-15, 3-3 UEC) won its final three conference matches to clinch the third seed in United East Tournament. The Nittany Lions made their fourth-ever appearance in the postseason and hosted their first postseason match since 2019. Abington faced St. Mary's College (Md.) in the Volt Division quarterfinals.
